  • 5 star review  Staying this weekend. Cannot fault. Room a bit noisy, as above the bar, but we were warned beforehand, and it's not intolerable. Very friendly, well cooked food. Would recommend and definitely return

5 star review  We stayed at 'The Moors Inn' this week. Arrived on Saturday and left today being Friday. The staff were on point, absolutely fantastic. The Accomadation was great, clean and tidy. Lovely hot powerful shower too. We were a little sceptical about staying at a pub with the noise but it's not that sort of pub... It's a small local pub in a tiny picturesque village. Now let me tell you about the offer. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast is very very good in terms of selection. The food. Absolutely first class. Nothing was too much of a challenge for the chef and team. Having stayed there for the week we pretty much had everything on the menu. It's first class food and I'm sure would warrant an award. Appleton Le Moors is only 8 miles from Pickering where you are able to jump on the NYM steam railway. It's 30 mins to the place where 'Heartbeat' was filmed and close to Scarborough and York City Centre. There are some lovely walks out from the Moors Inn too. Thank you to all the staff. We will definitely be back and enjoyed our stay.:)))))

  • positive review  Lovely peaceful village pub with free grazing sheep roaming! Dog friendly with our table set in the bar area for us all to sit. Extremely popular with the locals. Outside terrace with garden leading to country lanes. Charming rooms with direct access to the outside. The food was really lovely, Restaurant quality not just average pub food. Would recommend.

5 star review  I always write a review of The Moors Inn on TripAdvisor after we have stayed but never on FB. To be honest, I didn't know a review could be written on FB but have just discovered that it is possible. So I thought I would put things right. We discovered the Moors Inn back in 2015 quite by accident. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary year and were visiting childhood haunts. My family came from Whitby so I, literally, stuck a pin in a map. It landed on Appleton-le-Moors so I looked to see if there was a pub. There was and it was called the Moors Inn. We just wanted a base to explore Whitby and the moors. We decided if the pub was no good it didn't matter. We would be spending most of our time out and about. When we arrived Jude met us and showed us to our room. In it was a huge bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne on ice, two glasses and an anniversary card from our daughter in Melbourne! Secretly, she had been in touch with Jude and arranged it but it was Jude who organised it all. It was a measure of the lengths Jude, John and all the staff will go to in order to make their guests welcome. The rest is history. After we discovered that the hospitality, food and drink were superb we spent little time in Whitby! We have now been 6 times and are returning in January for a 7th stay. Oh, we love the fact that dogs are always around.

5 star review  We have just had a fabulous weekend here for Pickering war weekend. All of the staff are so friendly, the food was fantastic & the breakfast certainly sets you up for the day. The room was lovely and comfortable. I also have to say a big thank you for introducing me to Whitley Neill gin, I shall be tracking this down in my local Sainsbury's. Hope to see you all next year.
