The Moors Inn has been trading as an inn since the 17th Century in the beautiful village of Appleton- Le Moors in the North York Moors.

Cosy and welcoming

The inn features a cosy bar area complete with open fire, a main dining room and a newly refurbished snug area, perfect for parties and meetings. Completing the inn are 8 en suite rooms comprising of a mixture of double and twin rooms making us the perfect location for a countryside break.

Our focus is on providing a warm welcome and Yorkshire hospitality, whether you are staying with us or popping in for a drink. The inn is open from 12pm until late, 7 days a week.

We are a dog friendly inn and love meeting your four legged friends!

I recently took a trip to Yorkshire for the first time and stayed at the The Moors Inn for 4 nights and it was wonderful. The room was lovely and equipped with everything you could think of and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was a real treat with fresh, home cooked produce that always left you feeling extremely full! The Inn has a great atmosphere of a very traditional pub with open fire and is somewhere the locals pop into for a pint or two, so it has a very warm and hearty feel.
It was a great base for going out and exploring the countryside and further afield to Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay.
Overall I would really recommend staying here and would definitely like to return at some point.

A gem of a pub! We recently stayed here for the night and had a fantastic time. A very friendly welcome, the staff were lovely, food was great, the atmosphere in the pub was perfect. Stayed over for the night and was truly a lovely experience. We stayed in the cart house which was so beautiful inside and out.The food was amazing well presented as were the staff.Cannot fault it at all would definitely reccomend.Cant wait to visit again soon.Thankyou for having us.

We stayed at the Moors Inn last week and had a fabulous time! The room was beautiful the food was excellent and the breakfast in the morning was delicious.

Our little dog had a great time and was spoiled by the staff enjoying treats and even a sausage for breakfast.

Lovely old fashioned friendly village hostelry. Well run, pleasant obliging staff. Good plain home cooking. Generous portions. Unspoilt village. Good base for exploring the immediate area and further afield. Reasonably secure off road parking for classic cars. Dog friendly and plenty of walking in the immediate area. Reasonably priced. Can't fault it.

Superb inn offering excellently kept ales and delicious and very well served food. The food menu is varied and very interesting and the quality of the cuisine and its presentation is top class. The bar staff and those serving food are very pleasant, charming and always very helpful and ready to ensure that you really enjoy your visit to their wonderful Inn. No visit to North Yorkshire - we stay in Helmsley - is complete without a visit to the Moors Inn.

There are also a number of excellent walks out of Appleton-le-Moors which make using the Inn as the (return) base for your walking, a very sensible and great idea.
