Don’t just take our word for it…
A very welcoming pub, staff really do make an effort here. Fantastic food, loved the fish dishes. Clean and well presented rooms. All this in a beautiful part of Yorkshire, where the sheep roam through the village and a mad hatters tea party entertained in the garden for a good cause.

We loved our stay at the Moors Inn which is situated in a quiet rural town. Great food, the Staff and the service was 1st class. It is close enough to visit a number of tourists towns and has a great walk where you can come across 2 other villages in a 8 mile stroll. Our stay was fun and relaxing

I always write a review of The Moors Inn on TripAdvisor after we have stayed but never on FB. To be honest, I didn't know a review could be written on FB but have just discovered that it is possible. So I thought I would put things right. We discovered the Moors Inn back in 2015 quite by accident. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary year and were visiting childhood haunts. My family came from Whitby so I, literally, stuck a pin in a map. It landed on Appleton-le-Moors so I looked to see if there was a pub. There was and it was called the Moors Inn. We just wanted a base to explore Whitby and the moors. We decided if the pub was no good it didn't matter. We would be spending most of our time out and about. When we arrived Jude met us and showed us to our room. In it was a huge bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne on ice, two glasses and an anniversary card from our daughter in Melbourne! Secretly, she had been in touch with Jude and arranged it but it was Jude who organised it all. It was a measure of the lengths Jude, John and all the staff will go to in order to make their guests welcome. The rest is history. After we discovered that the hospitality, food and drink were superb we spent little time in Whitby! We have now been 6 times and are returning in January for a 7th stay. Oh, we love the fact that dogs are always around.
