Dining

Tables are available in the cosy bar next to the open fire, or in the two dining rooms, please book in advance to guarantee your table. We are non-smoking throughout.

Traditional dominoes or Merrills equipment are available for those who would like a game. We have a wine list catering for all tastes, hand pulled ales and over 50 different malt whiskeys to complement your meal or enjoy by themselves, as well as a wide selection of other drinks.

We offer an extensive menu with traditional British dishes, as well as dishes developed in our own kitchen from Matt's favourite recipes. All food is cooked to order using local produce where possible, in fact, most of the seasonal vegetables are grown by the landlord in his allotment about 2 miles from the pub itself. Other favourite local sources are the organic farm in Fadmoor, the fish farm at Yodeworth near Kirkbymoorside as well as the local gamekeepers and farmers who keep us in stock of fresh meat and game.
